WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita firefighters worked quickly Friday morning to prevent a garage fire from spreading to nearby homes.
The fire developed shortly before 4:30 a.m. in the area of Topeka and Funston. Crews tell KAKE News flames were shooting into nearby trees when they arrived. They were able to bring things under control quickly, yet one broken tree limb reignited into flames after sunrise.
It appears no one lived in the home, so no one was injured.
The garage is considered a total loss, with damage estimated at $25,000. There was no immediate word on how the fire started.
