Among those picking up the pieces in Oaklawn Sunday morning were the owners of businesses in that community.

U-Save Tire at the northeast corner of 47th Street South and Clifton had its front plate glass windows blown out by the storm. The business also had no power Sunday morning, but the telephones were working, as indicated by the phone system's shop ringer.

The store's owner was hoping to bring in a generator and provide at least limited service as early as Monday.

"The clean-up's not going to be too bad," said store manager Don Swope. "The glass here was something we didn't really care for to begin with. We're going to go ahead and put metal up over that. The doors, we get those taken care of . We're going to be a few days getting back in order."

By Sunday afternoon, the broken glass was removed and one shop door had already been replaced.

The store's owner will also spend the first couple of days this week meeting with insurance adjusters.
