Some flights to and from Texas canceled at Mid-Continent

WICHITA, Kan. -- Several flights to and from Texas have been canceled at Mid-Continent Airport due to weather.

Winter weather is impacting a large part of Texas, and is currently affecting the current flights to and from Wichita:

Departures:
-American Airlines flight 1476 to Dallas-Fort Worth
-American Airlines flight 2377 to Dallas-Fort Worth
-American Airlines flight 2398 to Dallas-Fort Worth
-United Airlines flight to Houston

Arrivals:
-American Airlines flight 2300 from Dallas-Fort Worth
-American Airlines flight 2377 from Dallas-Fort Worth
-American Airlines flight 2398 from Dallas-Fort Worth
-United Airlines flight 4296 from Houston

American Airlines and American Eagle have canceled nearly 1,000 flights because of a severe ice storm in the Dallas area.

American spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan says all of the cancellations Friday are because of the bad weather in the Dallas area. American's main hub is Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. American and American Eagle operate about 3,500 flights daily worldwide.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines canceled nearly 90 flights Friday.
