A pilot has suffered only minor injuries after the plane she was landing ran off the runway at Augusta Municipal Airport at around noon today.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a small single-engine Sandpiper plane was having brake problems, ran off the runway and into a ditch.
"They knew they were going to have some braking problems," says Master Trooper C.J. Schreiber. "There wasn't enough braking power to stop."
The 57-year-old pilot was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Her 27-year-old son was also in the plane. He was not hurt.
