An important skills competition, being held in Wichita this week, and it's certainly important for the students involved.

It involves creative skills from what they hope to use in future careers.

The some 700 Kansas High School Students are competing in the Skills USA Kansas competition.

33 contests are being held in four Wichita locations. Businesses have put up more than $150,000 in prizes including scholarships and power tools, and the chance to go on to the "SkillsUSA" national competition in Kansas City in June.
