Kingman Police have called off a Silver Alert for an elderly man with dementia who was reported missing yesterday. Kingman Police said they lifted the alert at 3:30 p.m.
Authorities are searching for 89-year-old Wallace "Gene" Fairchild. He is five feet, nine inches tall, 170 pounds, and has a full white beard.
Fairchild's red 2005 Ford Ranger pickup is also missing. It has Kansas license tag WCJ-100.
Farichild's family says he was last seen about 11:30 a.m. yesterday at his home. Another Kingman resident tells police she saw Fairchild driving westbound on U.S. Highway 54 in Kingman about 12:30 p.m. yesterday.
The family says Fairchild stops daily at two different family members' homes in rural Kingman County, but never showed up at either location Tuesday. Fairchild also suffers from vision problems and does not drive at night.
