The Wichita City Council has approved a more colorful downtown with hopes of drawing in more visitors. New, less restrictive rules are in place for business owners who have outdoor seating on the public sidewalk.
It used to be that furniture could only be black wrought iron and umbrellas had to be black with no advertising. Now, businesses can use colors and unique furniture.
"It makes the place look more unique and I'm excited they decided on that," said Sabor General Manager Steve Cotter.
The Old Town Association believes the unique qualities will help bring in more people to the area.
