The shooting happened Friday morning in the 3600 block of W. McCormick. Efren Antoinio Villarreal-Alvarado, 44, was in the process of opening Santana Concrete, where he was a foreman. It is not clear what happened next, but police believe it might have been a robbery that led to the shooting.

"He always came about 30 or 40 minutes before everyone else, to get everything ready, get the trucks ready, get ready to work for that day," Santana said.
According to police, the victim and two suspects did know each other in some way, but further details have not been released. Villarreal-Alvarado was found by some of his co-workers Friday morning, shot multiple times in his truck parked at the business.
During the interview with Santana, his crew was in the parking lot cleaning up some of the glass from the victim's car after the window was shot out. Santana said it was hard for his crew to have to see the reminder of the shooting.
"I feel sad," he said. "All the rest of the employees feel sad."
The two suspects have been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail, accused of felony murder and aggravated robbery.
Business will try to resume Monday for Santana Concrete, the owner saying "Monday, everybody is going to come in...we sit down, do a little prayer for him and move on after that."
