WICHITA, Kan.--- Hundreds of fans filled local food establishments in Wichita today as the Shockers played their first game in the Missouri Valley Tournament.

"It's been crazy. All season long, people come out and support the Shockers," said Alyssa Adkins, a sever at Fox and Hound.

Wichita State University hosts its official watch parties at the Fox and Hound, near 13th Street North and Webb Road.

"The Shocker games bring in a lot of money for the business and a lot of money for all us waitresses. We really are thankful for the Shockers," said Adkins.

Management at Fox and Hound said basketball games mean more business for all establishments in town.

"'When Shockers are playing, KU's playing, K-State's playing, any time there's a tournament, it's pretty much a whole new ball game when it comes to getting service, getting stuff out, just being staffed up," said Matt Urbanek, one of the managers at Fox and Hound.

Urbanek suggests people arrive early to reserve seats and asks that fans remain patient with staff.

Wichita State will play Missouri State on Saturday at 1:35 p.m.
