WICHITA, Kan. -- Showers and storms will be possible across the northern half of the state. A few storms could be severe with high wind being the most likely threat.

A front will track south out of Nebraska this evening into Northern Kansas. Storms will likely develop in Nebraska and could track into Kansas. A few of these storms could be severe. The greatest threat will be storms that produce high wind. A few could also produce large hail. The tornado threat across KAKEland looks very slim this evening and overnight.

The best location for severe weather will be north of I-70. During the overnight a few storms could track south of the interstate into South Central Kansas. While they might make it into Wichita they will not be severe and the majority should exit by the morning drive.
