Four people were hurt in a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on a stretch of highway in northeast Wichita.

The accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. on K-96 near Rock Road. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Jeep and a Honda passenger car were heading westbound on K-96 when the two vehicles collided, sending the Jeep out of control, across the center median and into oncoming lanes. The Jeep then struck an eastbound Ford pickup, which was pulling a trailer.

Two people suffered potentially serious injuries, while the other two had only minor injuries.

All involved were wearing seatbelts, troopers said.
