Severe weather is possible across Kansas Wednesday. A Tornado Watch is in effect for numerous counties in the eastern part of the state.
Keep it with the KAKE First Alert Forecasters for the latest weather information.
WICHITA, Kan. - Again this year, Sedgwick County plans to let residents get rid of heavy, bulky waste items at no charge. But the key item for doing that is not available yet.
The county will cover the cost to dump up to 1,000 pounds of waste, if you have a coupon. Residents can make an online request for that coupon beginning Monday, July 14. They also can call 660 9110.
The coupons will be mailed within one week of your request, and must be used before early November.
There are some rules to this special offer. Tires cannot be dumped. Neither can hazardous materials. And Sedgwick County suggests you try to recycle items first, before you haul them to the landfill.
