WICHITA, Kan. -- The Sedgwick County Courthouse was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon while officer searched for a man who made a threat.
Police say it began when a 21-year-old man called his father and said he was at the courthouse with a gun. The man's father then called authorities.
Police immediately responded, and locked down the county courthouse. They began searching for him in both that building and municipal court, located across the street in City Hall.
Officers later found the man at municipal court with his friend and his mother, but he was not armed. They later found a BB gun in his mother's car.
The 21-year-old was arrested for criminal threat.
