El Dorado Police have now arrested the boyfriend of the mother of a child who died earlier this month from suspicious injuries. 18 month-old Jayla Haag lay on life support for several days after her mother, Alyssa Haag, reported that the girl had fallen down some stairs.
But authorities said the injuries were inconsistent with what the woman said and she was arrested a few days after the girl died. Now, police have also arrested Justin Edwards, who is reportedly Alyssa Haag's boyfriend.
Edwards was booked into the Butler County Jail late last night and is currently being held with no bond. He is being held on suspicion of first degree murder, aggravated child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A court appearance is scheduled at 1:15 this afternoon for a formal reading of the charges.
