Search crews at El Dorado Lake have recovered the body of a 29-year-old Wichita man who went missing at the lake Friday afternoon.
Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet says the man was at the lake with family, his boss and his boss' wife when the group's boat drifted away from where it had been docked. The man went without a life jacket to retrieve the boat, went under the water at around 4 p.m. and did not resurface. Family and friends told deputies the man was not an experienced swimmer.
Crews were seen pulling his body from the water just after 6:30 p.m. His name has not been released, but deputies say he is survived by his wife and three children.
Rescue crews are searching for a man who went missing a short time ago at El Dorado Lake.
Shortly after 4 p.m., authorities were notified of a possible missing 29-year-old man at Bluestem Point #3. EMS, park rangers and sheriff's deputies are currently searching for the man in that portion of El Dorado Lake.
Emergency personnel are unsure if he was swimming or boating, citing a language barrier.
