ROSE HILL, Kan. -- Two Butler County teens who had been reported missing have been found.
Just after 1 p.m. Friday, Athenia Brinkly and Michael Conroy were located following a search with canines by the Butler County Search and Recovery Team. According Rose Hill Police, both teens are in good condition and healthy.
Police said many phone calls and tips came in during the search that was conducted by police, the Butler County Sheriff's Office, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, Butler County Search and Recovery Team and a Schreib-Air helicopter.
The Rose Hill Police Department is looking for two juveniles believed to have run away from home. The information was received by a family member of the missing teens.
16-year-old Michael Conroy II is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a brown leather jacket with a hood. Conroy has a medical condition that causes authorities concern.
15-year-old Athenia Brinkley is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a white logo on the front.
Police think the two are traveling together, but they had no transportation available to them. Their destination is unknown.
Currently, members of the Rose Hill Police and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office are searching the city limits and surrounding areas of Rose Hill. A helicopter was deployed for an aerial search.
