WICHITA, Kan. -- Three people were hurt after a school bus and another vehicle hit head-on in south Wichita.

The crash was reported around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on 55th Street South at Vandale, about two blocks west of Broadway.

Wichita Police say the elderly bus driver felt faint and drifted over into oncoming traffic.

Rhylee Reyes, a fifth grader at Ruth Clark Elementary, tells us her grandmother had just picked up her and her sister at the bus stop when the bus hit them.

"We're OK, but it hurt pretty bad. The seat belt hit my neck, and the airbags didn't even go off," Rhylee said.

Eight children who were on the bus. None of them were hurt. The children on the bus attend Ruth Clark Elementary in Haysville.

A Haysville school representative tells us they sent out a replacement bus and driver to take all the school children home. The bus driver was also driven home.

Rhylee, her sister, and grandmother all suffered only minor injuries.
