A 53-year-old Salina man's conviction on child sex crime charges could send him to prison for the rest of his life.
Gary Perales was found guilty Friday on two counts of rape, three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, two counts of criminal sodomy and one count of aggravated incest. Judge Jared Johnson set Perales' sentencing for Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.
Perales could spend the rest of his life in prison because one of the charges will be sentenced under provisions of Jessica's Law, which carries the possibility of life in prison without parole for 25 years.
A news release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt's office said the crimes occurred when the victim was between the ages of 12 and 16.
