The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued an emergency order of suspension against a Salina day care.
The secretary's office issued the order Monday against the Laugh and Learn Day Care in the 2100 block of Edward Street in Salina. The order was issued after a review of the day care's annual inspection conducted on Thursday the 24th.
During the inspection, alleged drug paraphernalia was discovered and turned over to Salina Police. The inspector also saw dirty dishes on counter tops, along with dried food on the floor, stove and oven.
The report from the KDHE also noted a blowgun, cigarette lighter, household cleaners and personal care products within reach of children. According to the report there were also hazards in the back yard of the home.
Four children were present at the time of the inspection. The operator of the day care has 15 days to request a hearing on the matter.
