Police say the baby girl was brought from a Salina hospital to Wichita's Wesley Medical Center yesterday.
When doctors did x-rays they told police they discovered 13 broken bones in various stages of healing.
That's when police were called. The Wichita Sedgwick County Exploited and Missing Children's Unit and homicide detectives were called in to work the case.
Because the baby is from Salina, the Salina Police Department took over the investigation.
This afternoon, the baby died.
Salina police say they are investigating the case as a possible child abuse.
