Report: GKN Interested In Buying Spirit Aerosystems

A London newspaper reports the company GKN is interested in buying Wichita-based Spirit Aerosystems.

The"Daily Mail" reported "speculation intensified on Wednesday with dealers hearing GKN was on the verge of launching a $5 billion cash and shares bid, for Spirit AeroSystems".

GKN is an automotive and aerospace components company headquartered in Redditch, Worcestershire, United Kingdom. GKN has facilities in Wichita & Wellington.

The "Daily Mail" report indicated GKN's bid would be worth $35 per share. Spirit was trading up 10% at $26.41 per share.
