Anthony, Kan. -- Anthony Police have arrested a 33-year-old man and 15-year-old boy after employees of a Wichita repossession company were shot at and assaulted.
It happened on South LL & G, shortly after 12 a.m. Monday. Police say employees from Xpress Recovery in Wichita, went to a home northwest of Anthony to recover a 2010 Ford Edge.
When the employees didn't get a response at the door, the took custody of the vehicle and left. As they were traveling into Anthony, they discovered they were being followed by a red pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup rammed the repossessed Ford several times, forcing it off the road. The two suspects got out of the truck and one of them fired a shot through the front windshield before dragging the driver out. The driver was hit several times with the butt of a gun before the suspects left.
The Kansas Highway Patrol and Harper County Sheriff's Deputies later arrested 33-year-old Bryan Bergman and a 15-year-old boy in connection to the attack. Bergman is being held in the Harper County Jail on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and criminal Discharge of a firearm.
The teen was taken to a juvenile facility in Reno County where he is being held on two counts of aggravated assault and criminal discharge of a firearm. The victim was treated and released by EMS at the scene.
