Wichita, Kan. -- Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo has challenged Todd Tiahrt to a series of debates.
Tiahrt is challenging Pompeo for the 4th Congressional seat. It's the position Tiahrt once held, but was succeeded by Pompeo following an unsuccessful bid for Senate, to replace Sam Brownback.
In a news release, Pompeo says, “The people of the 4th District deserve the chance to hear directly from both Todd and me. I call on Todd to immediately agree to five debates between now and the August primary. This will give voters the opportunity to thoroughly examine the record and vision of both candidates.”
In other election news, Tiahrt's campaign officially announced that Robert Noland will be his campaign manager. Noland worked for 16 years in various positions in Tiahrt's office from 1995-to 2010, then end of his term in Congress. For the past three years, he has been the Executive Director of the Kansas Family Policy Council.
