A Wichita police officer may be off the job for three months after he was injured in a crash over the weekend.
A vehicle being chased by other police officers ran a stop sign at 26th and Grove and collided with the police cruiser. Both officers were treated at a hospital and released. However, one of the officers had multiple surgeries and will not return to work for three months.
A 44-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, evading and eluding police and several drug related charges.
