WICHITA, Kan. — Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was reportedly forced into a car and sexually assaulted Monday night in northeast Wichita.
According to police, a 19-year-old woman was walking from a relative's house to another house for dinner around 6:45 p.m. last night near Erie and Stadium. That's in the area of 21st and Hillside.
As she was walking, a man driving a black Jeep stopped next to her and asked her about a nearby house for rent. He then got out, forced her into the Jeep and sexually assaulted her.
After 10 to 15 minutes, the woman said she was able to escape and ran to a friend's house where she called 911.
She described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his late 20s, about 5-feet, 5-inches tall with brown eyes and brown spiked hair. He was wearing a white v-neck shirt, blue jeans and spoke with a heavy accent.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
