Police are looking for suspects after several shots were fired through the back door of a south Wichita home.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, a 36-year-old woman heard someone knocking on her front door. When she answered, three men asked for someone she didn't know. They walked back to their car and drove away in a gray Nissan Maxima or Sentra.

A short time later, the woman heard someone at the back door. Because of a recent break-in, she had the door blocked with a board.

Someone then tried kicking in the door, and the woman went to retrieve her handgun. That's when the person on the outside fired three shots through the door.

The woman went out the front door and fired two shots in the air to scare the suspect or suspects away, then called police. The woman and a 24-year-old man in the home were not hurt.

Police are trying to determine if it was the same men who came to the home earlier. No arrests have been made, and no suspect descriptions were released.
