--Statement from Suburban Landscape Management--
The entire Suburban Landscape Management family is both shocked and saddened by the tragic accident that took the life of our employee, Terry Wright. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family as they, and we, deal with the loss. We also pray for the driver involved. We appreciate the many mentions of concern and support that we have received from our friends, customers and industry associates.
Although Terry had been with us only a short time, he impressed his supervisors and co-workers with his enthusiasm and positive attitude toward his responsibilities. He was the type of employee that every company likes to have.
In 20 years of business, this is the first time we've ever experienced a fatality on a work site. It is all the more tragic because no amount of training or safety precautions could have changed the outcome. This was simply a case of Terry being in the wrong place at the wrong time, at the exact moment the car jumped the curb. No one could have foreseen this, or avoided it.
The entire SLM team will always remember Terry. Now more than ever, we place an even greater emphasis on safety. We will dedicate our future safety endeavors to Terry's memory. We are working closely with the family to make sure all our resources are available to assist them in their needs.
