Police are investigating after a man allegedly suffered a skull fracture in an altercation at a south Wichita bar.

It began just before 11 p.m. Saturday when an employee of Club G in the 200 block of West Harry called police to report a man was inside the bar making racial slurs.

The employee said he told the 33-year-old man to leave, and then the man punched him in the mouth, said Sgt. Bar Brunscheen. The employee said he fought back, hitting the man twice in the face.

Police responded and could not locate the man accused of making the slurs. He later showed up at Via Christi on St. Francis and was admitted to SICU with a "depressed skull fracture," Brunscheen said.

While at the hospital, the man told police he was beaten by five other individuals for no reason.

No arrests have been made. Brunscheen said detectives will be investigating to find out exactly what happened.
