A one month-old baby boy is hospitalized at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis after suffering a broken leg.

The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is investigating how a child that young suffered the fractured bone.

The parents brought the young boy to the hospital after discovering a swollen leg. An x-ray discovered the broken bone and doctors quickly became suspicious.

"We're being told this was an abusive type injury, if it was an accident or not our investigation will tell us." said Lt. Jeff Weible.

Lieutenant Weible said he can't say what the parents believe happened, but he did go on to say that from his experience, young bones are very flexible and do not easily break. So far, no arrests have been made, but the investigation is still open.
