Wichita Police have released the identity of the teen who was shot and killed during the robbery of a convenience store Thanksgiving night.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving, two teens entered the KC Gas & Grocery in the 1100 block of North Broadway and allegedly attempted to rob the clerk.
An altercation ensued behind the counter, while the two suspects pulled out guns and threatened the clerk.
The clerk then pulled his own handgun from behind the counter and fired several shots, hitting one of the teens.
That teen, 16-year-old Giorgio J. Rock, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old suspect ran from the store, along with another 19-year-old who had been waiting outside.
Both were later arrested and booked on aggravated robbery charges. Their weapons turned out to be pellet guns.
The clerk is not facing any criminal charges at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
