Wichita Police say a drug deal gone wrong led to murder earlier this week.
Wednesday night, a man who had been shot drove himself to the QuikTrip station at 13th and Oliver. He flagged down an off-duty officer for help.
He was rushed to an area hospital and died a few hours later. He has since been identified as 42-year-old Shawn Rhone.
Police tracked the shooting location to the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway.
According to police, Rhone was in possession of marijuana and got a phone call from several suspects asking to do a drug deal. When Rhone arrived on Northeast Parkway, two suspects got out of their car and tried to rob him.
Rhone tried to drive away, but one of the suspects fired a handgun at this car, hitting him twice.
Officers have since arrested three suspects in the 1400 block of North Glendale, and a fourth turned himself in.crime. Three of the suspects are brothers. All range in age from 19 to 21.
