Police: 2 men shot each other in NE Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two men were taken to the hospital after an apparent shoot-out in east Topeka late Wednesday morning. An officer said they believe the victims shot each other.

According to police, they were called to the 2700 block of SE Gilmore Ct. shortly after 10:00 a.m.where they found the two victims, who have not been identified yet.

Crime scene tape surrounds the home at 2724 SE Gilmore Court as well as two other homes in the area. Police are still investigating to determine what happened. They were not able to say if either man lived at one of the homes.

Earlier police had said one of the victims died, but that was later retracted. As of noon Wednesday, they said both were still alive although one of them was fighting life-threatening injuries.
