Wichita Police said a store robber hid from customers while waiting for a safe to open Sunday night.
The robbery happened at the Dollar General store at 2000 E. 21st. Officers said an armed man confronted a store clerk and demanded money. The clerk explained there was a time delay on the safe. The robber waited for the time delay, even hiding when customers entered the store. When the customers left, the clerk handed the money over to the robber.
Police said they were not alerted while the robber waited for the safe to open.
