A pilot suffered severe injuries after crashing his plane in Finney County.
It happened just before 10 a.m. in field about 15 miles south of Scott City.
Officials said John Crist, 64, of Garden City, was flying a crop-dusting plane. He had taken off from a nearby airstrip and had flown about a mile when his plane had mechanical issues, lost power and crashed. He was transported to a nearby hospital with several broken bones. Crist was later flown to a Wichita hospital for treatment.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
