A Lyons, Kansas man escaped serious injury this morning when the plane he was piloting crashed in a wheat field. The crash happened west of Lyons at 9:30 a.m.
The Rice County Sheriff's Office said Christopher Peeler was practicing touch and gos at the Lyons Airport when the plane stalled and then crashed one-half mile north of U.S. Highway 56.
Peeler suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
