Person Of Interest Questioned In Hutchinson Pedestrian Accident

Hutchinson authorities are questioning a person of interest in connection to a motorcycle hit and run accident.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of north Main Street around 9:10 p.m. Saturday. Police said Jeffrey Nusser, 26, was walking across the street when he was struck by a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle drove away from the scene. Nusser was taken to a Wichita hospital where his leg had to be amputated.

Hutchinson officials said the accident remains under investigation.

A Hutchinson man is recovering after being struck by a motorcycle Saturday night.

It happened just after 9:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of north Main Street in Hutchinson.

Officers were dispatched to an accident involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. Hutchinson Police Lt. John Moore says 26-year-old Jeffrey Nusser had been struck by the motorcycle while attempting to cross the street.

The motorcycle left the scene and is described as a silver-colored cruiser-style motorcycle with tall ape-hanger handlebars, loud pipes and possibly ridden by a white male wearing a white bandanna.

Nusser was taken by air ambulance to St. Francis in Wichita for trauma to his right leg resulting in amputation below the knee. He is now in fair condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hutchinson Police Department at (620) 694-2816.
