PTA Treasurer On Leave Over Missing Funds

The treasurer for a local PTA has been placed on administrative leave after money went missing from the group's account.

On Sunday, police were called when approximately $9,000 was found to be missing from the PTA fund of Kelly Elementary School, located at 3100 S. Millwood. Another member of the PTA told police that the treasurer embezzled the money.

The treasurer of the PTA, who is also a school district employee, has since been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is underway. Charges have not yet been filed.

PTAs fund accounts are separate from school budgets.
