College Hill Elementary students and parents finally got the chance to meet their teachers, almost a week after they were originally supposed to.

Last Monday, a fire damaged the school forcing administrators to delay the first day of school and relocate the entire student body and staff to the vacant Bryant Elementary building in west Wichita.

At a "Meet and Greet" open house Sunday, the sign outside the school read "Welcome: College Hill Elementary." All the classrooms were set up and ready to go for students.

Teachers who lost almost off their classroom supplies, most of which they paid for out of pocket, told us they were excited to finally meet their students and start school.

The first day of school for College Hill students is Monday August, 19.
