WICHITA, Kan. -- A man in his late 20s is recovering at a local hospital after being stabbed early Saturday morning in west Wichita.
Officers were called around 1:30 a.m. to a disturbance in the 400 block of South Leonine, near Maple and West Street.
Sgt. Jim Merrick said five people had come together over a lost dog when prior issues between two men started a fight. The 28-year-old suspect then stabbed the victim in the side with a knife.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. The suspect was taken into custody, Merrick said.
Police are still interviewing the others who were there at the time of the stabbing.
