Wichita Police said a medical condition led to a deadly accident Wednesday. The accident happened before 8:00 a.m. on 119th Street West near Kellogg.

Police today identified the victim as Drew Hopson, 52. Police said Hopson suffered a medical condition that caused him to drive off the road. His car struck a tree.

One man is dead following a crash this morning in west Wichita.

The accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday on 119th Street West just north of Kellogg. Witnesses told police that a car was traveling at a high rate of speed before it crossed both lanes and hit a tree. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police say the victim is between 40 and 50 years old. They're trying to determine if a medical condition may have led to the accident.

Both directions of 119th are were shut down as police investigated the accident.
