Police have arrested two men following the armed robbery of a Wichita convenience store that resulted in the shooting death of a teenager.
At around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night, officials say three men entered the KC Gas & Grocery in the 1100 block of North Broadway and attempted to rob the clerk at gunpoint. Investigators say the clerk pulled a gun and fired it several times, striking one of the suspects.
The 16-year-old gunshot victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other two suspects, both 19 years old, ran away. They were later arrested and booked into jail on aggravated robbery charges.
The names of the suspects have not been released. The clerk is not facing any criminal charges at this time. The incident is under investigation.

Police are investigating a fatal shooting at the KC Gas & Grocery Store at 11th and Broadway in Wichita.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and police said the shooting appeared to be related to a robbery.
Sgt. Ron Hunt said two men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, tried to the rob the store. The clerk pulled a pistol and fired it several times, striking one of the suspects.
That suspect was taken to Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 7:45 p.m. The second suspect got away.
Sgt. Hunt said police are still searching for the suspect and any witnesses who might have been in the area at the time of the shooting. He asked anyone with information to call 911.
Sgt. Hunt said it was unclear if the attempted robbery Thursday evening was connected to the robbery that happened last Saturday.
