Five people have been arrested after a police chase in northeast Wichita.

It began when officers tried to stop a car in the 1600 block of N. Chautauqua around 10:35 p.m. Monday. Police managed to spike the vehicle near 11th and Hillside. The driver continued to try and get away from officers, until the vehicle lost control and rolled near the 200 block of N. Belmont.

Authorities said two people jumped out of the car and ran. The suspects were quickly taken into custody. The driver and two other passengers stayed in the vehicle after the crash.

Police found marijuana and two loaded firearms inside the car. All five suspects were booked for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, no tax stamp and possession of paraphernalia. Three suspects were booked on felons in possession of a firearm.

The driver was also arrested for running from officers, and faces other traffic violations.
