WICHITA, Kan. — Deputies believe a medical condition may have played a role in a rollover accident Wednesday morning that left an off-duty firefighter with minor injuries.

The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. at 13th Street and 127th Street East. That's just east of K-96.

Sgt. Conrad Jansson with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department said three people saw the westbound pickup driving erratically before it left the roadway and overturned.

A 49-year-old off-duty firefighter suffered lacerations to his head and an injury to his arm. He was taken to a nearby hospital for observation. His name has not been released.

Jannson said it appears the victim suffered a medical condition, but the investigation is ongoing.
