Wichita parks officials are reminding residents to keep their dogs out of a north Wichita dog park, because the area remains under construction.
The park, located at 2127 N. Meridian, is in the final construction phase.
“We’ve seeded some areas, so we need to keep pets out to allow the grass to grow for the dogs’ future enjoyment,” said Doug Kupper, Park and Recreation Director.
Meridian Dog Park is expected to open by mid-summer.
Arson Canine Ashley Memorial Dog Park, 2400 E. McArthur, is the city’s first dog park. This park features plenty of open space, including shade structures, park benches, timeout areas and drinking fountains.
