UPDATE: Small fire extinguished at Newman University

WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita firefighters have extinguished a small fire inside a building on the campus of Newman University.

Crews were called to the school, located at 3100 W. McCormick, around 8 a.m. Monday. The caller reported smoke coming from the Heimerman science building.

Several firefighters arrived and were eventually able to locate the source and extinguish the fire.

According the Newman's Twitter account, the source of the fire was a small motor in a professor's office.

No one was hurt, and firefighters have since set up fans to ventilate the building.
