An Omaha, Neb., man was killed late Thursday morning in a crash in northern Kansas.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. on Highway 36, about two miles west of Prairie View in Phillips County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a van driven by Michael Lampe, 53, was heading eastbound on Highway 36 and left the roadway. The van went through a fence and hit a tree before coming to rest in a field.
Lampe was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Reports state he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
