CLEARWATER, Kan.-- Update: According to the February 19th school board minutes, the board acknowledged the information from the anonymous source as well as e-mails that were forwarded to the board of education. The statement said, "We will continue to evaluate the situation."
An anonymous person has sent dozens of pamphlets to many residents in Clearwater this week.
"Everybody's pretty shocked about it," said Charlie Watkins, Clearwater resident.
The pamphlet accused people who are in a swinger group of "boasting out in public" and "throughout (the) school system."
The anonymous mailer wrote that "the school system has got to clean up their mind set from the top all the way down to any of us that assist in school activities."
"If you don't have proof that is actually happening, it's not your business," said Lynn True, Clearwater resident. "If you have actual proof, then you need to step up to the plate and you need to go before the town and say, 'Hey, these people are doing this and it needs to be stopped."
Although no one is specifically named, the pamphlet points the finger at the Clearwater school system.
KAKE News talked to Clearwater Schools Superintendent Mike Roth on the phone. He said, "There's no truth to some of the allegations," and "from the district standpoint, we have no comment."
The mailer did not have a return address but the postage was paid from Wichita via permit #84.
