A man serving life in prison for the murder of a Butler County teenager will have his appeal heard by the Kansas Supreme Court.
Israel Mireles was found guilty in the November, 2007 murder of Emily Sander. Mireles and Sander were seen leaving an El Dorado bar together. Sander's body was found east of El Dorado six days later. Mireles was arrested in Mexico in December, 2007.
Among the issues the Kansas Supreme Court will consider is the admission of gruesome photographs during Mireles' trial and the failure to instruct the jury on felony murder.
The appeal is scheduled to be heard March 6th.
