A woman is dead and another man has been critically hurt following a late-night shooting in Pratt.
The shooting was reported late Wednesday at a home in the 100 block of North Ninnescah. That's in the center of town near the junction of US-54 and US-281.
Witnesses who live in the area told KAKE's Deb Farris that it started as a dispute between two neighbors. They said it escalated when one of the neighbors came back outside with a gun and began firing into a crowd, hitting a woman who was trying to break up the fight and another man. Those witnesses said the woman was eight weeks pregnant.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Pratt, and the man was transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.
A suspect was quickly arrested and booked into the Pratt County Jail. The Pratt County jail website shows 21-year-old Bryant Alan Seba was booked at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday on charges of murder in the second degree and aggravated battery.
The shooting is being investigated by the Pratt Police Department, Pratt County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
