A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash in west Wichita Saturday morning.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Ridge Road. That's between 21st Street and 13th Street.

Police say a motorcycle driver headed southbound on Ridge Road collided with a mini van turning left from Westport onto Ridge.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where he later died, Sgt. Troy Nedbalek said. The motorcyclist killed is a 43-year-old man from Wichita. His identity has not been released.

The driver of the mini van, an older male, was not injured but was shaken up by the crash, police said.

As of Noon Saturday, Police still had a section of Ridge Road closed as they investigated the scene. They are several witnesses to the accident who police were interviewing late Saturday morning.

Police say it is too early to determine what caused the crash.
